Riley is ONE!

I am holding back tears with every word that I type today. I simply cannot believe that my little baby girl is one. It just sounds insane. I truly do not know where the time has gone. I remember my delivery as clear as daylight. I remember seeing my baby girl for the first time. It was an amazing experience and the start of the best years of our lives. We’ve experienced so much with our beautiful baby girl this year. We’re getting to be kids all over again! Every single day has been an exciting one with our angel of a baby. For 365 days we’ve experienced something new with her. From opening her eyes to rolling over, crawling, wobbling, babbling, walking and now RUNNING! It has certainly been an adventure and my husband and I feel so blessed to have been given this beautiful gift. We plan to continue raising her in the direction of the lord and by his word. We only hope that the foundation we set for our daughter will be strong enough to keep her safe and grounded in this crazy world. By his grace I am more than confident that she will be just fine.

I am at a loss for words. There’s no place else in the world my husband and I would rather be than by our baby girls side every step she takes. I now as a mother realize how limited my one on one time is going to be with her! 20+ years is simply not long enough (depending on when she gets married). I couldn’t have asked for a better little girl, I feel so unbelievably blessed to be her mommy. Okay now back to the birthday girl! Quality time is of the essence!!!

Happy first birthday to most fearless, fun, loving, adventurous, cuddly, joyful, smart little girl I know!

This year with her is going to be amazing!

Here are some photos of Riley throughout her first year of life!

  1. Enjoy every single moment with Riley. My daughter has the same birthday as her, she is now 19, and like you, it seems just like yesterday. They grow up so fast but it does not matter as long as you guys are together every step of the way. Riley holds a special place in my heart just because she shares this special day with my Sam. The Lord is watching over our children, and He has special plans for them.
He said train up a child in a way she should go. Even when she is old, she will not depart from it.
You and Stephen are doing a great job.
    Happy birthday, Riley!!!

  2. Ayesha – Such wonderful photos of you, Stephan and your beautiful baby girl. I can’t believe she started smiling as a newborn. Riley is such a happy little girl. Her joy shines through in every photo. She also appears to be fearless, and just lots of fun! You know you are so blessed to have Riley, but remember that Riley is also blessed to have the two of you as parents. It’s obvious that you and Steph are great parents and that you love every minute you spend with Riley. So, enjoy and cherish all the wonderful moments in the years to come.
    Happy Birthday Dear Riley Boo!

  3. When Riley first day going to school you will cry again, perhaps little Riley will tell you, mon calm down. Yes, we parents are more sensitive than kids! especially the baby who could steal our heart like Riley.
    baby Riley, happy birthday!

  4. Just love this post. It is insane how quickly that first year goes. All this means is that you guys have to have another one soon, hehe, just kidding. When it’s time, it will be time. Enjoy your little Riley and all of the milestones that are heading her way in this year. It’s amazing and truly inspiring to watch your little one grow. God bless your precious family.
